Can anyone give me a clue as to what options the Strines Inn offers for vegetarians? Want to take my friend there as I've heard good things, but obviously it's a treat for her and as she's a veggie, I want to check there's a reasonable selection for her to choose from!
There were veggie options when we went earlier this year. Give them a ring on 01142 851247 to find out what's on offer.

What is Strines Restuarant like? Is it anything like the fox house?

Well, no idea if they do veggie... even if they do I'm afraid you'll be sitting eating your food surround by various stuffed animals (foxes etc) - there are loads. Might put her off her food??
Otherwise its a lovely place.

The last time I had something to eat there was about 10 years ago. The food was spot on but the barman was a bit too nosey for his own good. He's probably long gone by now though.
They do do some veggie food - the yorkie pud, and a couple of pasta dishes I think.
The stuffed animals are unpleasant if you're veggie though so I'd think again. If you do go and fancy a walk then if you drive a little past strines inn down a hill there's a car park on the left and if you follow the track at the bottom it takes you up onto the moor - views are magnificent from the top!
We went for a meal at the srines last week.. the food there is allways fantastic and there is a small choice for veggies, I think there was a veggie lasange and some salads, veggie burgers and a few other dishes although they escape me now. I love the strines I have been going up there since I was a child, now I take my kids and they love it too.
There is a totally fenced in area outside for familys complete with swings and tame peacock, and further round the back they have a small animal sanctuary (although its probably not the best weather now) I dont think the inside of the place has ever changed in the last 25 years. I think this adds to the atmosphere of the place, when I was a teenager we used to call in on our weekend ride outs on the bikes god I really miss that, but thats kids for you
