Just had an email saying that Travis will be busking outside Virgin around 1:30 TODAY!

They are playing in Sheffield tonight and I know they've done it other cities they've visited.

Sorry for the short notice but hey...

yeah theyre playing the leadmill to get back to their roots, apparently.

Hmm, is this why it's double the cost of most bands who play there? Or is that the leadmill cashing in. Pah.

I was in Glasgow and Edinburgh last week and they were busking on the streets of Glasgow, I heard the money went to either Shelter or the Big Issue.

Yep, it gives everyone the chance to give them the kicking they so richly deserve.

They will get beat-up by the big issue salesmen and the women with clipboards and surveys.

I just got back from watching them. They played about half a dozen of their most famous songs, inc. the Britney Spears cover.

Without them there would be no Coldplay, Keane, Embrace and so on.

Guilty as charged, m'lud.

was wandering into virgin just before two and there was this most awful caterwauling coming from just outside that i had to run away from. not actually that many people there considering. actually, considering how dull i thought they were, it was probably quite a big crowd!

Still, meant virgin was nice n empty and i could pick up the new black books dvd jolly quickly :)

I never assumed you were stupid, I did assume you didnt know the band due to the use of the word "him"...that is all.

No need to lose it on me. :suspect:

My friend from college busks in town to buy weed. I'm sure if people knew what he did with his money they wouldn't give it him.

i saw them! they werent singing though they were just stood there and people were crowded round (there was only about 20 - 30 people) and they were signing things. The blond un was talking to people and people were giving them their mobiles to talk on. I got bored though cos im not keen so i went to TK Maxx. What a load of crap that was. That big issue seller next to travis was selling loads!

Uuuummmm. No. Firstly, embrace have been around a while longer than Travis. Secondly, Travis suck monkey butt. Down with this sort of thing!!! Without Travis there would be no current trade of 'serious' bands doing covers of pop acts biggest hits. It contrived and arrogant and shouldn't be allowed. Boo Hiss etc.

I don't think Embrace have been around longer than Travis. Travis debut album (and their only good one) Good Feeling was released in 1997, Embrace's first album, The Good Will Out came out in 1998. Given the choice I prefer Embrace though
