Today my cat gave birth to 5 gorgeous kittens! :D :love: :D
I thought they only gave birth through the night but the first two arrived at 11.00 am, Willow was in the dog bed with my GSD Kira and she howled (willow not Kira) and i looked to find two kittens! she cleaned and 'cut' the cord of the second then the third arrived it came out backwards and the head got stuck so i had to 'assist' Willow then got up and left them to go behind the sofa there she had the last two kits, so i rubbed the kits to keep them warm and had to tie the cords and cut them so there was less chance of infection, when the last one was born she was very tired and it had also got its back legs stuck so i helped again. They are all now well fed and sleeping. BTW i have never been present at a birth (apart from my daughter) so every thing i did was learnt from watching all the vets programmes!
So we have two torties and 3 gingers! How fab!
