How long do I steam fresh baby carrots for?
How do I cook asparagus - steamed? and how long?
how long do I roast parsnips for?
As you can guess, I'm a man about to venture into the kitchen tonight! I know where it is - I used multimap!
Thanks

Eat the carrots raw or steam for just a few mins max.
Asparagus only a few mins.
Roast parsnips, boil for a few mins first then roast for half an hour ish in HOT oil.

Parsnips, parboil in water them until they start to go soft and them put them on an oiled roasting tray for about 30 minutes, maybe a bit longer.
The carrots shouldn't take too long to do, about 10 minutes but it does depend on the size of them.
I've never cooked asparagus

Nigella Lawson (mmmmmmm) recommends to roast parsnips and potatoes in goose fat because it can reach a very high temperature without spitting.
:)
The carrotts and asparagus depends how soft you like them as some people prefer them really soft others prefer them crunchy, if your using a steamer it wants to be on for at least 20mins as it takes time for water to boil, but just keep checking them, use a sharp knife to stab them and if they feel soft enough for your liking they're done if not leave them a bit longer, as for parsnips, i put olive oil on them and some honey and cook them slowly for about an hour, you could also add the carrots and asparagus to the parsnips and roast them all together, they taste lovely. x

You must like your veg the consistancy of baby food if you steam it for 20mins.. That or you have a rubbish steamer. 10mins and mine are horribly soft, 5 mins and they are heated through and nice and cruncy.
:)
it is a rubbish steamer must admit, but my step daughter bought it for us, paid about £50 for it and it's no where near as good as the cheap one i had, lol

Asparagus takes about 4 mins, do you know how to prep it, and what are you going to serve with it? Its probably one of the most suggestive foods going dipped gently into a pool of unctuous hollandaise and lovingly placed between lips.
Holy ****. Thats made a mess on the keyboard.
