It clearly shows both Frank and his famous Double-Arm Gibson (The first one in UK by the way) as being left-handed, whereas Frank is actually right-handed, and so is the guitar. (It was on display in Weston Park Museum about 5 years ago). Ned Ludd 14-10-2004, 10:44 Thanks for sharing those photos with us. mikey 14-10-2004, 11:06 Originally posted by Bushbaby The photo of Frank White is reversed. As the top arm on the picture looks longer and I would have though it should have been shorter. mikey 14-10-2004, 11:09 PS and dont forget Frank is appearing this weekend as part of the Sheffield Jazz and Swing Festival. He will also be playing with his famous nephew Richard Hawley on the Sunday evening at the Boardwalk. Richard Hawley and the Feral Cats. The buttons clearly show that the guitar is the right way up and the photo is back-to-front. Sorry you guys, I have only just downloaded my email. Thankyou for pointing the picture out, you are right it is reversed. I have been digital for so long I forgot which way to scan the negative shiny side up or matt side up. Ill reverse it in photoshop and load it up again. Thanks for the name of the bassist, anyone know the drummer. Al tara 20-11-2004, 07:55 Frank white always played at the pheasant -lane top when my mum worked there late 70s. I think they were there for many years after. Bushbaby 01-12-2004, 14:53 Still does!! Last Friday of the month (most months) Still good as well Wildfire 30-12-2004, 12:52 If you are really keen to find out the name of the Drummer drop into Trio Jewellery shop in Broomhill with a copy of the pic. You can then find out from the horses mouth... Mal Hooley the Bass player owns the shop!! I'm sure he'd love a copy of the pic ... he has quite a few more on the walls! BTW if you had been at a charity do at Park and Albethorne club a couple of weeks ago you'd have seen Mal Hooley playing with Frank. Even more of a thrill Frank "Borrowed" his old double neck back from Phil Brodie for the night!! Roysboy56 30-12-2004, 18:34 Wildfire has just shown me the pic.. I'm 99% sure that the drummer is Steve Mitchell "Bubbles". he still plays regularly in various bands and is living in the Doncaster area. he's got a painting and decorating business as well Bushbaby 31-08-2005, 09:38 In the early seventies Frank made a great record called "Louisianna" It was all about heavy floods in and around New Orleans in the 1920s. The hook-line was " 6ft of water in the town of Evangeline" Frank still performs the song during live sets (if requested) With the news this week from that area, (Hurricane Katrina) it seems that history has an awful knack of repeating itself. Perhaps Frank should consider re-releasing the song? |
