I recently read somewhere that a film about Edith Piaf has recently been shown at the Berlin Film Festival. There have been a couple of films, already, about Piaf [ ' Edith & Marcel ' and ' Piaf. The Early Years '.] but both were a bit ' sugary ', more or less made for family audiences .

Apparently, the latest one is a bit more ' down to earth ', showing more of the real Piaf, with her numerous unhappy love affairs , her heavy drinking , her drug-taking and her battle to reconcile all this with her stage appearances.

Has anyone seen this film or could someone tell me how I could get hold of a copy ? Problem is, I'm in mainland China at the moment, so there may be complications !

Anyway, any advice would be very much appreciated !

I would certainly like to see this film, I always thought Piaf,s life was interesting, "Little Sparrow" that she was.

well it's on tomorrow in France so it will be a while before it's released here.

Saw the musical at the lyceum a few years ago, thought it was brilliant.

I think the actress who will be Piaf is the woman from Taxi.
