What do people really think of Foxhill?
We have recently moved here and have found that the majority of the time it is really quiet and the peolpe who live near us are all really friendly and helpful. However within a week of living here we had our pick up nicked. Now the locals reckon there has recently been an influx of car crime but other then that its ok. Any opinions anybody?

I used to live up there up to 11 years ago & I saw how quickly the area went down hill especially in the mid 90s. There as always been a problem with youths ranging from druggies to thieves and other scum but the people I know still live there that's probably because it's no worse or better then any other estate in Sheffield. The trouble in the Foxhill area was big groups of families which I won't mention were always responsible in some way or other with any trouble that went on. The flats on Foxhill crescent have all been knocked down which housed a lot of the trouble though. I should spend more time up there just to see if I still know anyone.

When I went to school At chaucer in the 1980s, I knew lots of people in Foxhill and surrounding areas. I found the whole area surprising for how many kids were wandering about. It seemed to me that every other house had a family and so the area had more than its fair share of nusense and petty crime just due to the sheer amount of youths. Like any area there are nice parts, but I wouldn't choose to live there.

Ah we have come around to Foxhill. It aint that bad when you get the feel for the place. You just need to know who to steer clear of and to bolt everything down that is moveable.

We moved to Foxhill recentley(well been here almost a year now) we live at the top end(grimsell crescent) and have no trouble what so ever, nice neighbours, no gangs of kids, very peaceful.
Although saying that further down the estate, near the shops it looks a lot different.
But overall I cant complain

My Nan used to have the end house on Foxhill Drive and she was constantly burgled in the 80's and early 90's. I noticed when we drove past a couple of years ago all the flats at that end have been demolished, whether that helped I don't know. Seems to be some regeneration going on.

Which shops? We back onto the Wolfe Road shops and dont have any trouble. Our neighbours are all lovely and we get on well with them all. We have enjoyed every single minute of our 18 months here.
