Im sure everyone here remembers Harley. Unfortunately he went into renal failure yesterday and he crossed the bridge at 9am.

Thank you Tracie & Jen for taking care of him for me.

You were so special and I will always love you. I hope you are in a better place now. X Binky Free sweet boy X

Thanks for posting this Sooz. I tried to write it a few times, but couldn't find the words.

Harley was a lovely, gentle rabbit and I feel truly blessed to have had the privilege to care for him, even if just for a short time.

I'm eternally grateful to Sooz for nursing him through the worst of his illness and allowing me to adopt him to live with my girl-bun, Jen, and also to everyone on here who kindly contributed to Harley's treatment last year.

I'm absolutely heartbroken and I will miss him terribly :(

:( I'm so, so sorry to hear this. I know it comes as a shock when things like this happen so suddenly, because its only a couple of months since I lost my Bobby. Binky free Harley, you're in a better place now.

I'm so sorry to hear about this- everyone tried so hard for him. It's good to know that he had a happy time towards the end of his life though, with a snuggly human and furry wifelet.

Hugs go out to everyone who's feeling this.

Oh no! :(

Poor Harley

I know I'm repeating what others have said, but I'm sure he died a much happier bunny than he would if he hadn't been found and cared for in a warm home with other bunnies :)

Enjoy your peace little bunny ;)

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. They are greatly appreciated.

I brought Harley home this afternoon. The bond between a pair of rabbits is very strong and I was advised to let Jenny see Harley before we buried him, so that she would understand that he had passed on, rather than letting her pine for him. She was very withdraw last night and watching her with this afternoon was utterly heartbreaking :( She spend some time lying next to him and licking him before she hopped off. At that point I took him and buried him in our garden, under a bay tree.

I will miss Harley dreadfully. He was a very special rabbit :(

Thanks everyone, I was in a real state when I posted yesterday :(

Jen seems much brighter this morning - she trashed her hutch during the night (as usual!) and come bouncing over for her veggies this morning. It's a stark constrast to yesterday morning when she was very despondent without Harley and I had to encourage her to nibble at some food.

I think people really do underestimate how complex buns are, and that they need to say goodbye and grieve for a lost friend just like we do, if not more :( I am glad that she's picking up a bit though :)

I'm glad Jen is picking up a bit hun, She'll be fine after a while but as you say, they do need to grieve for their lost ones. I remember before I bought Peanut home his brother died, and the whole family of buns was sad and upset :(

Harley had the best home anyone could have offered him, and between you and Sooz he was a very happy little boy. I remember when Bobby passed away I literally felt like my world had ended. I still cry now when I think about him or look at his photographs but I know he's happy where he is now, and he'll be waiting for me at the bridge =]

Best of luck hun, and drop me a PM if you want to talk. :) xx
