I went to B&Q today with thoughts of getting some Cheshunt compound. They didnt have any ... but I got quite a few other things.
They had perennials in trays reduced. A tray of mossy saxifrage containing 12 was reduced to £1, trays of about 10 primula reduced to 50p (one or two flowers worse for wear, but buds coming), trays of sweet williams and forget me not also either 50p or £1. So Ive been out planting this afternoon. They also had a pair of thicker stem secuteurs (anvil type) for £1.60 on the reduced counter which I bought and a lawn scarifier reduced to £10 which I didnt buy (cant decide whether to abandon the lawn).
I was delighted when I saw the saxifrage particularly, as I want some ground cover between my shrubs and was going to either cadge some or buy some from the garden centre.
Ive only planted on the front so far, the back seems far too wet!
