I have got rid of Grokster off my PC as it no longer worked and to upgrade it would put loads of spyware on my PC.

I opted to download Kazaa Lite K++ which downloaded and installed fine, no add-ons, spyware, pop-ups etc BUT after downloading some mp3's and trying to play them in media player there is no sound.

I can't see why at all. File format is correct, file size correct etc. The only thing that is weird, is when loaded into media player (or win amp) the song length is really long e.g. 20mins for a 5 min song and it plays (as in bar moves along indictating playing) but no sound!

Any ideas? Help!!

kazaa is flooded with mp3's by the industry that dont play, or play noise, dont work etc.

same for films, either you have to accept you will have to download a few to get a real one, or give up.

p.s. do you have speakers and are they plugged in, on etc!

Just tried winmx and it's really slow at doing anything i.e just clicking on a command. I tried to do a search and it took forever and didn't fins anything. It also doesn't tell you how many users are online :(

listen to the download once it has started to check if it is legit. Even then some files start to play then finish after a few seconds just to trick you.
Try eMULE

For anyone who's never heard of it Ares is by far and away the best filesharing program i've used. Very easy to use,no corrupt tracks and v.fast dowmload speeds.

Ares is great....recommend it :)

i now only use kazaa on rare occasions because of how crap it has become, if your lucky enough to get owt to download a decnt sppen, it wont work, coz of the fake files, your better using a decent program and a new type of p2p, its called bit torrent.

With bit torrent you need a client(software) i found azureus to be quite good, then u need a site where torrents(links to d/l item) are listed, i like www.suprnova.org , to date i havnt had one bad download or bad download speed.

weren't a lot of guys who used bit torrent prosecuted?

ABC is a good bit torrent client, I used azurus? for a while and it kept grinding to a halt, if it happens to you try ABC.

i think those prosecuted were people that hosted sites with torrent links.

same with EDK links.

ive got imesh, thats the best one cos u get good films as well :thumbsup:

i mesh is ok but is full of spyware best one for me is e donkey lots of search stuff it even finds the obscure stuff......... id warn anyone against putting LIMEWARE on your computer is full of spyware and is very slow indeed:(

i used winmx on dial up it found loads of stuff in the search part but since i got broadband i can hardly find anything so i took it off also winmx had the most amount of leeches on there:mad: :mad: :mad:

where can u download a bittorent i used to have bittorent++ wich was extremely good - like 2 hours to dl spiderman2 but i got that off a friend hu had it on this portable hard drive, but any other torrent is ok. i think supr nova is good too

you can just do a google search for azureus it gets downloaded from somewhere like sourceforge i believe, yeh suprnova is pretty good but recently its got popular so slowed down a bit, another good one is www.filelist.org, but just about all the time i get full d/l speed
