Bought daughter I Pod mini for birthday and she was over the moon. Cole Bros said it would work ok with Win ME but it wont they say we need XP or 200. Is there a simple way around this?

No easy way around it mate, your best bet would be to upgrade your computers operating system either with XP or 2000. Windows ME has never been seen as a good choice of OS anyway, so you have a good reason to upgrade.

It's not designed to work with Me. A quick trip over to iPodlounge (http://www.ipodlounge.com) will sort you out with all the info. I'm not in the same situation, but believe there's a program called ephpod that'll make her mini talk to WinMe/iTunes - have a search in their forum.

Alternatively, take it back to Coles for a refund - new iPods aren't sold as being compatible with pre-2000 versions of Windows, if you were told it was compatible, you were mis-sold.

We were miss sold but cant bear to take it back, going to change software. Thanks for the advice.
