I'm setting up a website for literature and arts, and hoping it will encourage Sheffield based writers and artists to submit work. So far I only have a myspace page (www.myspace.com/holeintheroad) but am working on developing a site right at the moment.

The website will feature poetry, short stories, photography and art all by up and coming/unheard artisits.

Like I said, I'd love it to have a 'Sheffield' edge and for lots of Sheffielder to contribute. So if you are interested in submitting a piece, or would like some more information please PM me or add me on myspace.

Thanks for your time,

Sarah

Sarah,
I think this is a fantastic idea. Much of my fiction is written from a Sheffield perspective, and I'll make a tentative offer to contribute some stuff that has previously been published elsewhere, if you are interested. Let me know some details. I have a trilogy of supernatural stories set in the 70s, in a fictional part of Sheffield I call Chapelbank - it might be suitable.

Ahhh, wonderful. Thankyou Darren. I'll PM you more information when I'm at work tomorrow night.

I've had lots of submissions so far but few of them are people from Sheffield. So I'd like the odd reference just to try and reinforce the connection.

Yeah, I'm trying to get to the magic number. You'd think as a writer I'd have a bit more to say for myself, wouldn'tcha?

I've recently been visited by my muse, and have been inspired to write a mini-series of stories about a guy who... well, when I write one, I'll post it. :)

I’ve just had a read of a couple of your stories Darren. They are really good. I’m impressed.
I particularly liked “The Veil”
I must read more.
