Actually I'll be finding something to do with friends. Valentines day is unavoidable whether or not you're in a relationship (it does tend to get shoved in your face somewhat), might as well go out and do something fun.

If you and your partner both know that you are loved by and important to the other, then St Valentine's day is rather unnecessary- and if you aren't with someone then it's another day when you'll feel like a failure if you aren't careful.

Precisely. Valentines Day is nothing more than a contrived, commercial manipulation. I choose to ignore it and I treat Valentines as no different than any other night of the year.

I'm cooking a meal for the girlie for the 1st time since we started going out two years ago. I've also booked an emergency room at the hospital in case I manage to poison her, but the doctors have at least promised me red roses on the bed.
