The Natural Dye Studio (http://thenaturaldyestudio.com/) Was looking for yellow sock yarn as DS1 has requested some yellow and came across these people. Has anyone used them before as the colours are particularly yummy:D
No, I haven't come across them before either. Looks interesting though, especially their use of 'historical plant dyes'.
Let us know if you order from them and if you recommend them.

Will do - even if M doesnt like the yarn I saw I might get some for me - like I need more yarn :hihi:
Edit: Looks like M fancies some Opal Rainforest 2 in snake
Just spotted that the shop is based on Ebay. When I clicked on the link and saw the pictures, I realised I had seen that yarn before. I thought I recognised the use of blue-faced Leicester wool and the colour names.
I rather like the Atlantic Moon colour, though I think I'd prefer the colours to be a little more intense. Some of them look at little pastel-like for me.

Yes they do look a bit pastel - I keep gravitating towards green yarn though - already have loads:hihi: Quite like the raspberry leaf - hmmm
I've used it and they've been great, but a friend hasn't had such good service from them. Her blog entry on August the 13th here (http://piglottie.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html) (scroll down) explains some of her problems.

Thanks Amelie - I might go for some to try if its close to the starting price. Did you go for the blue faced leicester or the merino?
Turns out M didnt go for the Opal snake and we came away with catapiller with minimal yellow:hihi:
So yellow's out is it? I was just going to point you in the direction of some yellow-looking LL on Get Knitted's 'Just Unpacked' section. 'Firefly', I think it was. It looked yellowish on my monitor, anyway  .

Dont dismiss the yellow quite yet - it is his fave colour:D If he likes the Opals I might get him more xepensive wool. I think I will be able to get a pair for him and a pair for his baby bro and still have some left from the ball I just bought from Jill.

Do you want me to dye you some yellow? It isn't natural dye (comes out of a pot) but the yarn is blue faced leicester and suitable for socks. I made my husband a pair out of it last year and they have worn really well (which is to say that they haven't worn). I can just do you 50g if you want, it's on a whopping big cone so I can take off as much as I want. It isn't superwash though and will felt if you mistreat it.
