anyone have any idea where the name came from or how it originated

I assume it goes back to the days when Bradway was basically a few farmhouses on the track out to Derbyshire, and that corner was some sort of market place where tinkers traded. Erm...

The guy who owned the farm on the corner was called Tedbar Tinker.
