Hi
The flat im moving in doesnt have BT point, thats the first thing. It costs £125 for the installation of such thing, and then I want to set up broadband connection. Im really confused after reading some reviews I dont know which one to choose. Id like more than 2MB and unlimited downloads. Im willing to pay £16-19/month.
Can anyone advise me about this?
Thanks a lot
Carol
Before you can get broadband you'll need either a BT telephone line or a cable from Telewest or a sky dish.
Wireless broadband is one option for how you connect up inside your house - not how you receive it in the first place
Yeah. you'll be unlikely to be able to escape the "new line" premium from BT that you seem to get stung with if there's not already a point there. I guess you could try cable but then you'd have no guarantee that that would be cheaper initially.
After that, we're with Demon for the ADSL, it's fast and reliable with no limits, but it's also not cheap, either.

Telewest Broadband, soon to be renamed Virgin Media Broadband is definatly the best service I have ever come across. Very rarely does it go down, because it's Cable it's the fastest option and the installation/customer service is fantastic.
I am also pretty sure they're giving out free wireless modems to new customers, including installation which means you will have wireless for your laptops/desktops.
Whatever you do eventually go for - stay away from Talk Talk at all cost!
Bulldog don't exist anymore, I think Pipex took them over.
If you're in a cable area then you won't need a phone line and the installation should be free (if not certainly cheaper than £125!!!)
Telewest are also doing 2Mb with unlimited downloads for £10 a month, and there is no line rental to pay either!

Hi there
Thank u all
This is being so helpful!
AOL do wireless at £15 a month but their service is shockingly bad and their so called "support" helpline is staffed by halfwits with the technical knowledge of a retarded chimp!
Carol, one other thing - are you buying or renting this flat? If you're renting then you might be worth asking the landlord if you haven't already for a BT line as it would be in their interest long-term.
Demon is good; rarely cuts out and little need ofr poost sales support. BUT at £19.99 that's the least I'd expect.
