Today me and the missus were having some grub in Marks and Spencers cafe in Meadowhall.
The food was nice, but the cafe itself was a disgrace, food and rubbish all over the floor.
I complained to the manager and asked for some of my money back. She agreed it wasn't acceptable and gave us a FULL refund. A minute or so later a cleaner appeared.
Full "Marks" for admitting when they got it wrong and trying their best to put things right!
We were really impressed. Goes to prove it's best to complain if you aren't happy and give people a chance to make it up to you!

Better than the Archer Road Sainsbury's then. We were having breakfast in the restaurant bit in there the other week and the noise was unbelievable. I guess they can't help it with that coffee machine thingy and plates clattering and stuff, but the staff were all shouting at the tops of their voices the whole time. I kind of lost my appetite when somebody in the kitchen bellowed at 110 decibels: "CAN ANYBODY LEND US A TAMPON?"

Can you give us the date? Just so we don't go for breakfast next month:thumbsup: :hihi: ......classic.
Marks and Spencers cafe in Meadowhall is a disgrace. It's always a mess, and last time I went in I found it very off putting when one assistant said to the other "Can you cover, I'm busting for a pee?" while serving me.

Be fair though, would you expect the poor soul to hold it while she serves you?
If it was me I'd rather she hurries up to the loo before she had an "accident", not minding the short wait for her to come back, wash hands and put apron back on.
the marks and sparks cafe in town's cleaner i think.
also doesn't it get you mad the amount of places that have filthy cutlery- like the last persons pie and mash all over them or something. yuk
dont these modern machines clean them properly or something.
culprits for this are tj hughes cafe upstairs, morrisons cafe's,co-ops-exept stocksbridge.
we once had a meal at brewsters and the cutlery came all neatly wrapped up in serviettes and when my son opened his ,
the fork was covered in dried up mushy peas.
as if anyone could miss that. ( we had to laugh though)
anyway i told the waitress and she apologised and gave him some more.
which were ok thankfully.
