Go on then, enlighten us. Why is it not safe? I lived on Dovercourt Road (next street on from Manor Lane) for over 10 years, and never saw any trouble there. How does that make it not safe? Its not a bad area at all....not a student area though, although there are quite a few student houses on City Road.

Would agree not typical student place - but as last poster says bit further down - Granville Road loads of students.

As to it not being safe, Im certain you would have nothing to worry about. Just some narrow minded people who have never lived around here.

Dont Listen. :)

I work just off Manor lane and all i see every day are kids playing and people going about their buisness without a care in the world. Not one person looking like this  or this :suspect: in 3 years!

I've lived on Manor Lane for the last 19 years, and during the last 4 or 5 years there has not been any trouble at all. During this time, I have noticed a few "student types" living/knocking about, and I suspect that this is due to the accommodation on nearby Granville Road and Norfolk Park being let.

I say bring more students onto Manor Lane and surrounding areas - it may help raise property values and keep away the "riff raff." Just look at Crookes, probably the liveliest student area in the city, where a typical 3 bed terraced property is worth around £125k compared to £70k on Manor Lane.

It may be a good long term investment.
