Hi all,
I've also just bought a new house in Renishaw and am moving down from Halfway.

Can I ask anybody who lives in Renishaw/S21, when and received the results of your survey, were there any warnings of excess of Radon gas? The following was flagged up on my survey "some properties in the area as having natural levels of radon gas in ecess of the limits considered exceptable"

If anybody else has had this, did you check the radon gas levels in your house? If so, how did you go about doing it?

Many thanks,
Leanne

I had a check when I bought my house in S10 because of the nearness of the Peak District and granite rock. You have to send for a pack to http://www.nrpb.org/ for about £35. You put the sensors in the house for 3 months and then send them away for the results. My results came out very low (below 20 bq). Anything above 200 bq means you have a problem. Full information is on the website. I didn't need the test as part of the survey. For me it was just peace of mind when I'd moved in.
Hope this helps

Thanks for that Cols. I think i'll look in to getting a detection pack once we've got the keys to the house
