I was surprised when I found this news, is it true or made up?? Well if it's true then it obviously explains the mans kindness, warmth and that wise aura he has. :)

JJ converts to Islam. (http://www.despardes.com/people/default.html)

I think that his wisdom and kindness also came from the fact that he was a decent human being.

I expect his wisdom comes from being in the spotlight all his life. He"s had to deal with so much, and life"s experiences help to character build.

So Lestat, what you're saying is that kindness, warmth and wisdom are exclusive to Islam? I find that quite offensive.

Don't let him get your goat, purdy - it's what he wants.

I was very impressed with Jermaine, I know it's difficult to judge someone from watching them for a few minutes on an edited TV prgoramme but apart from his slight fixation that some of the tension was to do with colour, people could learn lessons from him.

I found him very restful and a calming influence. Although I doubt that would have come from him being either a JW in his youth or a Muslim now. And far more to do with the person that he truly is.

Oh bother! Not possessing a telly, I didn't see Big Brother, though I did read in the paper that Michael Jackson is Jermaine's brother. However, upon reading this thread, I've suddenly realised that the most interesting thing about Jermaine Jackson is not that he's a Muslim, but that he's a man!

I thought Jermaine was an American spelling of Germaine, as in Germaine Greer! :hihi:

Calm, yes but a little weird too, methinks...

He's called his son "Jermajesty"... pronunciation is correct, not sure about the spelling...

Thing that amused me most about J.J. though, was that on his entrance to the house, he declared that he was a stickler for avoiding germs and that he would either get someone else to open a door for him, or if he had to do it himself, would make sure that he only touched the handle using a cloth, to avoid any personal contact...

Fine you might say, so the guy has a bit of a phobia, probably a more sensible phobia than most...

BUT... He then walked down the stairs into the main BB room... holding onto the handrail!, that really creased me! :)

:hihi: :hihi: Chill purdy, I'm only having a laugh!!... It's got nowt to do with it, just in this time of tension with all the terror and bomb plots and whatever happening in the world - all focused on muslims, I just thought I'd see the reaction if I said the opposite of what people think of muslims nowadays!

OK. It just came across as a bit 'Them and Us'. Though you'll be aware I have strong views on some elements in the Islamic community (as in any community), I find the division of people into 'muslims' and 'non-muslims' depressing, hence my remark.

I'll lighten up now.

Not exclusive to islam but very common in islam.
Part of the teaching is being good to your fellow man.

Works for me. Whatever race or religion you are it's always a good move to be nice to others and, even better, try to understand them.

Fishing around for a faith....thats the sign of a well balanced individual. .....I think you do have to look around and be sure about what u believe b4 u commit or whatever, to a religion. u cant be catholic/jew just because you were brought up that way. i believe u have to do some investigating yourself and see what works for you:)
