For the work xmas do, we need a restaurant that meet's the following criteria:

- Within walking distance of West St.
- Has good vegetarian options
- Will cater for a group of around 10
- Is either Italian or Spanish (not interested in Chinese as not many people like it, not interested in Thai as the menu is limited for vegetarians)

So far we are looking at BB's Italian Restaurant and Cubana, can anybody compare these 2?

Thanks in advance

I'd really recommend Las Iguanas in west one. Really good south american food, and fantastic cocktails!

BBs has a good reputation amongst people i know. Dont know much about Cubana

love them both

had many a xmas doo there...
food wounderful, staff very accomadating and patient and fun with large groups they can do no wrong

cubana been going since it opened, tapas is fab you should just order it all and share, mijitos are fantastic look like pound water but taste divine

personally would find it hard to choose between them
depends on if you want a bargin night with bring your own wine homemade italian food or blow the budget on many a cocktail (must try raspberry sangrea  ) and very tasty tapas ??

BB's is a brilliant resturant and serves quality food BUT when it is busy it can seem a bit cramped.

Not a crticism of th eplace especially if you are going in a party but if looking for a couples venue then at a weekend may not be the best place to go to

Still top class food though!!!!!!

Tequila Tapas bar on West Street serves great food and the atmosphere is great. Great cocktail menu and they also have a dance floor. Also, open 'til 12.30.

Take this with a pinch of salt - it's far from an unbiased viewpoint (see steven's other posts).

For my money I'd go for Cubana. Great atmosphere, good music and the sort of food that appeals to everyone.

Not sure why everyone seems to rave so much about BBs - it's a bog-standard Italian with bog-standard food. Not really a nice Christmas meal type of place.

Is the Restaurant in West One open to the general public or just West One residents?

There's a couple of restaurants isn't there? One is called Las Iguanas, and we went there last year with work so yes, it's open to the public :)

Try the wig and pen on campo lane behind the cathedral, I've eaten there a couple of times and the food is really good. Christmas menu looks yummy
