Does anyone know how much it would cost, on average, to convert a manual car to automatic?

I think its the engine block and the transmission..[ergo the important bits] that i remember having to be changed; is this still true... and other than for my driving convenience, are there any advantages to changing

i suppose this is possible, but i doubt it's practical or worth the cost. I'd guess that the gearbox and transmission would be the parts needing changing, and possibly more.

Depends on what the car is too, personally I would just buy an automatic car, less hassle.

The car [or should i say body] was practically free so i was just hazarding a guess before i committed myself.
