Hi all

At my first appointment with the community midwife, she seemed to think I might be further along than I thought (apparently my uterus was way more palpable than normal). Has this happened to anyone else??

Obviously won't know until a dating scan in a few weeks but am a bit worried because of the possibility of having been pregnant for longer than we realised and not eating properly, drinking alcohol....

Thanks...

try not to worry about drinking and not eating well while you didn't know you were pregnant. Just concentrate on doing the right thing from now on instead. There's no point beating yourself up, it's not as if you knew it then.
Good luck with your pregnancy. Enjoy it.

3 days before i done my test i drank myself into oblivion without knowing or even thinking i was pregnant!! Mini sav has turned out just fine, i was only couple weeks gone so she would still be a splodge.
as for not eating properly, you dont really need to worry too much about that, just as long as you are now. congratulations btw:thumbsup:

At 24 weeks I measure 26 but the midwife said not to worry too much it could just be the position of the baby. My first child also measured more, I think at 25 I measured 27, but he came 4 days late after induction and weighed 8 pound 2 ounce.

Let me explain a bit more....according to my LMP I should only be 8 weeks along, but I have a clearly palpable uterus (which doesn't normally happen until about 12 weeks).

However...my LMP wasn't normal (late, light and short) and now my partner and I are starting to think maybe that it was implantation bleeding and we're really an extra month along.

Or we're having twins of course!!

Will let you know what the scan shows in a few weeks but just wanting to hear other's experiences.

When I say measured I mean the midwife measured where my uterus was.

Anyway yeah let us know what happens. Pregnancy is so exciting!

Someone I worked with went to bed with tummy ache following what she thought was a dodgy curry. She had to dial 999 in the middle of the night as the pains were excrutiating and she thought she was dying. She had her full term little girl shortly after.

I think it caused a mad panic in the family as they had to dash out and buy everything for the baby!

In some ways I envy the person you worked with, and all the other people who found out quite a long way through that they were pregnant or further ahead than they thought! I have felt so grim I would have loved to have skipped this bit and just popped out a baby one day! Though I see with this comes the the guilt of not having done the things you would have done if you had known.

I got pretty drunk the week after I must have conceived but am trying not to worry too much as lots of people report similar things and it can't be changed. Of course someone has told me since that preconception you should do everything as if you were pregnant (i.e. not drink, restricted diet etc) which I would like to have done in an ideal world but when you dont know how long its gonna take you to conceive this felt like a bit of a miserable obsessive existence. Anyhow, I found out at my scan I am a week further on by the baby's size which I am pleased about- hopefully one week closer to less sicknes and my baby being born!! :)
