Hi all,

Now I’m not the best in the world for cleaning my vehicles I work fairly long hours during the week and come the weekend I really don’t feel like spending a couple of hours scraping my knuckles on the hard to reach places of my bike, I don’t mind the car, it takes a lot less time and once done actually looks like it’s been cleaned. What I was looking for is whether there was a cleaning agent that I could spray on the bike and it would break down the dirt and grime and with minimal effort I could then wash the bike. The reason I ask I took my car to one of these had wash places on the London Road and they did a remarkably good job, even the wheels where pretty clean (considering when I do it I need a toothbrush to get between the spokes) and all they really did, was spray something on it, then spray a soapy solution on it, give it a quick blast with a sponge and rinse. I was very impressed with the result. As I commute daily on the bike and haven’t cleaned it in about 8 weeks in is quite grubby now and is going to need a real good scrub, I also haven’t been able to get the alloy parts like the wheels, frame or engine parts very clean at all, they seem to be discoloured, I did try wire wool on a very small section which did bring it up nicely, but I was worried whether this would damage the metal? It also will take a very long time, so any advice on miracle cleaning solutions greatly welcomed.

Thanks

N.

What ever you do don't use a high presure washer on it, it will screw the electrics. Mega bucks to repair.

I put mine in a hand car wash thing, you get the water and stuff through brushes that you use yourself not one of those with the big rotating brushes ;)

mind I have a lot of fairings to protect the electrics

I didn't think it looked too bad myself, and a smidgen of individualism is not all that bad. Plus will the colour and size of the text I use have an impact on the replies I receive or lack of them? Mmm, could be the makings of a new thread here

sometimes you pick can pick a font that looks ok on your machine but is unreadable on someone elses, a forum I use I used to post using "Lucida Handwriting" font as it looked ok on my machine, I didn't realise that as my XP machine didn't have the font installed it was defaulting to "comic sans serif" and those with win2k who did have the font were having a hell of a job reading my posts

so you need to be careful with font selections

personally I reckon your post looks ok

aaaaaaaaaaaand swiftly back to topic :D

I haven't actually changed the font, so if it is different it's not by me; I just changed the colour to blue and made it slightly bigger. Maybe if I could get a suggestion on a cleaning aid for my bike it may work on the font too?

Tried to pm you but was told you in box is full.

Muc Off is good stuff, I used to use it on my MTB when I offroaded a lot. They sell it in Halfords when youve run out of the stuff from FG. Just spray it on, leave it for 5 minutes, then rinse it off.
