I have wanted a VW scirocco for years and now in the position to get one. this will be a restore project to have one of these resembling its former glory. Just want to ask what bad points i need to look out for on this car, which parts fail/wear and what to check when i go to view them. so far, the only info i have is that the throttle can sometimes stick. Possible suppliers of spares would be appreciated too. Have a couple of nice tidy examples to look at, one a 1987 scala and a 1986 GTX.
all advice and knowledge greatfully recieved, and promise to post the renovation progress (red paint job, black leather interior planned so far)

Thanks for the link. going on that, picked up a bargain (1989 GT2) for £200. claimed to be a good runner, but going with car trailer just to be on the safe side. will update you an the progress.
