Hi all :)

Most of you will probably remember 'Harley', the rabbit that was found by pinklady wandering abandoned in Thorpe Hesley. Harley was fostered by Sooz22 who confirmed that he was suffering from a bad infestation of mites and was also almost completely blind :( Lots of very kind and generous SF regulars contributed to Harley's care and treatment, so I thought you might all appreciate an update on this special little chap.

I'm delighted to report that last week Sooz paired Harley up with my rabbit, Jenny (thank you Sooz!). After a few days under Sooz's watchful eye, both bunnies came home to live here with me  It is truly difficult to over exaggerate how gorgeous Harley is, he's an utterly lovely rabbit and exceptionally friendly. He and Jen are very loved up too and it's an absolute delight to watch them snuggle up together

Here are a few photos - apologies for the quality of some of them, Jenny is still a young rabbit and it's impossible to get a photo of her sitting still! :)

Jen (http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i162/Sweet_Pea_2006/?action=view&current=Jen1.jpg) (looking cross that I'm in her bunny tunnel :hihi: )

Harley discovers that having a young wife is exhausting! (http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i162/Sweet_Pea_2006/?action=view&current=Harley2.jpg)

I hope to get some more pictures soon, but for now I hope you enjoy these and a big thank you to everyone who contributed to getting Harley back on his feet

lovely pics Tracie, I intoduced a female to my male bun and it was the best thing I ever did, they do love each others company dont they:love:

I do have a soft spot for bucks they do seem more loving than does to me:hihi:

Thanks Gemima :) I love seeing paired up rabbits - Jen and Harley snuggle up together and she grooms him, it's very sweet. Jen looks out for him too; he's having a course of eye drops at the moment and she gets so concerned when I'm putting them in for him and comes dashing up to make sure that I'm not doing anything remiss to her fella! :hihi:

Harley is the more affectionate of the two - he likes to hop over and have a nose rub whilst Jen just dashes around crazily. Before I got Harley she used to come for a nose rub too, but I've noticed that since they have been together she'd rather go to him for a cuddle :D

Lovely to see your happily bonded buns Tracie, although Harley spends less time with you I am sure Harley & Jen are much happier with their own, plus they have each other when you are not home.

We love having bonded pairs around the place.

Aww its so nice to see them looking so happy together. Thanks for the pic fix Tracie. How are his eyes doing?

Gemima, I also have a soft spot for Bucks, they are so much more affectionate than does!

Thank you GrinderBloke and Sooz :) I have more photos Sooz - none of them are fantastic quality but if you'd like some proper prints of them for yourself I'd be more than happy to oblige!

I really love seeing bonded pairs too. It sounds strange but I'm so pleased that the buns would rather be with each other than with me - Jen has always been a friendly rabbit but I really wanted her to have a companion that she could talk 'rabbit' to! They do make a lovely couple.

PS. Harley's eyes are OK in terms of not being weepy - the vet had a look at them on Thursday at Harley's check up and said to use up the tube of ointment completely and then just to watch out for them getting weepy or sore again :) He checked Harley's teeth over too and apparently they are fine, no spurs or anything that might cause him discomfort. He's been eating fine whilst he's been here - although he carefully picked out his spinach his morning. I don't think he's a fan :hihi:

Aw they look lovely together. I've got a little friend lined up for Peanut, a nethie lop cross who doesn't have a name and is currently being kept in a friends shed (in an outdoor cage) and has NO human contact at all, ever. She doesn't have a name, but she's lovely.. Bonded pairs are lovely together but I'm not looking forward to the day when Peanut would rather play with his girlfriend than sit on my knee.. :hihi:
