Sounds like a contented guy. Take him out for a slap up meal.

How about one of those Oxfam things where you buy trees or other things to help Third World people and you get a card to present to the birthday person?

For a special birthday, how about a gift voucher for a go in a flight simulator (http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=453) or something similar (driving a train/bulldozer/whatever) that he might have always wanted to do. You seem to be able to get vouchers for just about anything these days!

I saw someone interviewed on TV yesterday whose children had treated him to the right to have the next big weather depression named after him. His 65th birthday present was the certificate to prove it. His name was Kyrill...

How about a book on how to be a better liar.

Keep going, keep going.

All good ideas but he's been flying, race car driving, doesn't wear shirt and tie, doesn't drink, not into footballn wouldn't wear a cardy and i don't think he's appreciate the oxfam gift (even though it was a good idea). Plus there is the fact that i'm SKINT!! I bought him a book for Xmas and i've got to take the present ski-ing with us cos it's his birthday while we're there!

See what i mean?

A photo album of happy memories over the years?? You could get a personalised photo book made up -most of the online photo processing places do them.

Or if you're really skint draw him a pretty picture or write him a nice poem. That's what my kids do for me. :D

I'm 27 so i think drawing a picture would be strange (but i think i'd find it highly amusing).

KenH - Let me put it a different way. What do I get for a man thats got everything he wants thats in my price range! :P
I know he's probably not got EVERYTHING he wants but I can't afford to get him a Merc or a holiday etc. What i meant is if he wants a CD - he'll buy it, if he wants to skydive off of a plane - he'll have done it. see what I mean.

I think i will have to ask him but I was going to try and be proactive and find something on my own. Easier said than done.
