This afternoon my husband and I went to use the cash machine at the Yorkshire Bank on the corner of Commercial Street. We noticed three young men standing near the machine near the BHS. Being a bit cautious we went to the other one near the bank door. Some thing about these men struck us as strange so we watched them. Everytime someone had used the other machine, one of them went to the machine and inserted a card, but didn't withdraw any cash.
I went into the bank and alerted staff to what we had seen.
did I do the right think?
You definately did the right thing alerting the bank staff.....lets hope they now follow up on your information.
Be interesting to see if anyone else has heard anything like this going on?

sounds like they have a card copier in action. The unsuspecting customer puts their card in the reader, all data is taken from it and then put on the blank card inserted afterwards.
there was a warning about these in one of the local papers a few months back... look out for protruding devices on the input slot... these read the details on your cards magnetic strip... some of them can store 1000's of cards details then they remove them and can duplicate cards, also they can fit small camera lens to get pins...
this is a very serious threat in town centers, its been advised not to go removing these things if you see them, they generally have people keeping watch and one person got hospitalised a month or two back cus she removed it and smashed it up and obviously its worth a LOT of money to these people so they wont be happy... just dont use the machine and contact the bank imediatly, or the police!
