Are there any programmes available so that you can fade the singing out of any songs and just have the background music playing!

Either a computer programme or something!

Why not just look around for the orchestral versions of the songs, thats unless it is some of this modern rubbish.

Some of the modern songs have some great background music!

e.g Arctic monkeys! Snow Patrol, Paolo Nutini etc!

There are software packages but they only work with varying degrees of success. You'll often find that if the vocal has echo or effects plastered all over it, the main vocal can be removed but all the effects remain. Google "vocal eliminator" and you'll find some stuff. It mostly depends on the vocal being in mono with the backing in stereo for it to work successfully.
