Might want to check that your cable to the video card is still plugged firmly in...
However, doesn't sound too promising.. From previous and long outdated experience, it would most likely cost mor than a new monitor to get it looked at and repaired, especially if it's a dry solder issue or something wrong with the tube.
The good news is that CRT monitors are pretty cheap nowadays so you could get a replacement without killing yourself wallet wise... I also have to say that TFT's are also getting cheaper too and given the 2 new ones I've got recently... I'd actually recommend giving it serious consideration... especially an LG-L1715S...

Make sure the system is fine with another monitor as always a slim chance the video card is failing, especially if its one with a fan that's stopped spinning. Mess with the refresh rate, stick it to 70 or 75Hz, that can sometimes help, some monitors start to fall over at high refresh rates but are ok at lower ones, you won't see the flicker at 70-75hz, you will at 60hz. Check no desk fans are running near it as they can cause interference and so can 4way extensions and power cables.. Most lightly will be the monitor dying but worth checking things.
(I must be bored)
