View Full Version : Anyone booked their holiday yet?

Hello everyone! I was just sat here thinking how lovely it would be to get away some place nice and warm and it got me wondering if anyone has booked their holidays for this year yet?

I'm going to Crete in June, to a small place named Lake Kournas. It's very quiet and so beautiful (not at all like me!) and only has a couple of small Hotel/Taverna's situated around a gorgeous fresh water lake. It's just a short taxi ride to the nearest resort where there is a lovely beach, and at night it's a bit more buzzin! Considering that in the past I've loved going to Palma Nova/Magaluf, I was worried that it would be too quiet for me, but I loved the tranquility of it all and had a much needed relaxing holiday.

So, where are you all off to then?

We're going to somewhere in Wales in June.

That's about as much as I know to date about this year's Holiday.

My ambition is to go to the US one day though (despite the fact I don't like many Americans), shopping in New York and perving at lasses in bikinis on some Beach in Florida appeals to me.

I wont be going away at all this year. Cant afford it now i dont live with the parents. Definitely wouldnt be going abroad because i dont even have a passport, or anyone to go with.

May go on a long weekend break somewhere, but that all depends on how things pan out in the next few months.

I've been to New York and done the shopping bit plus lots and lots more, also been to Florida too, except I was perving at boys in shorts and not lasses in bikinis!

Chapel St Leonards is a lovely place. I used to go there with my parents when i lived with them. We used to go for day breaks there too, or for a week (when the kids were off school). We stayed in erm.. Blue Anchor caravan site (i think thats what its called, i know its 'something' anchor). Lovely and quiet and a few minutes walk from the beach.

Skeggy is also a nice place to go and Ingoldmells. Although we didnt go to Ingoldmells as much when we got the dog because we usually had to carry him, otherwise he'd have got stood on (hes a jack russell).

Went to Crete in October last year, extended Summer for us.
It cost us £451 for myself, partner & our daughter (not bad).
Weve decided to go away in June to stay with my sister in Altinkum, Turkey as a cheap holiday for us. However after looking at the prices of the flights it will cost us more than our holiday to Crete.
So if anyone knows of where I can get cheap flights please let me know.

If you check online for prices from Onur Air (Turkish Airline), they seem to have best prices available. Always best to shop around.

Thanks scarby & frolikalki, will check both out.

WOW chapel st leonards, as a single mum many years ago it was the place to go for a weeks break. Always stayed at the robin hood camp & frequented the maid marion club. Jane Macdonald started her career there years before she was ever on a cruise ship.

On topic, we'll possibly be going down to my Brother's in London in April, just haven't officially arranged it yet as we have to be sure he'll be in and not on some diving course or whatever that weekend.

Please bear this in mind when responding to this thread and don't be specific about the dates of your hols :suspect: . Would hate to think that someone comes home from a lovely holiday, to find that someone else has made the most of your break also    .
