Just moved into a new house and we really want to change the kitchen but not wanting to pay the earth for it. Got a quote the other day from Ikea and the kitchen would cost us £1350 and the installation £1200.

We're only looking at 8 units!! We really want to keep away from the big retailers like B&Q etc.

Has anyone got any recommendations for local tradesmen where we can discuss are needs for a new kitchen and get it installed, for a reasonable price?

We have just had a new kitchen installed by "Bellini Kitchens" who are located just down the road leading to Killamarsh from the Halfway Tram Terminus, it is just past the First Bus depot at a small Industrial Estate on the left hand side. My kitchen is fairly small and they were very helpful and weren't phased by the kitchen size. I can recommend them as being first class and the appliances they have are really top notch. If you want any more information please PM me.

Why not B&Q?

Just got it this week. (eidt to add - I mean my kitchen!!!)

3 wall units + 5 base units all with maple doors and satin handles, 2 slate look worktops, 1 1/2 bowl satin sink, mixer tap, white over-hob extractor unit, cornices, pelmets, plinths and all plumbing acccessories etc and it came to £550.

I shopped around in the January sales and no one came anywhere near them on price.

Just a thought.

ps It's all flat pack btw - but dead easy to put together - they even cut the worktops to length for free.

You get what you pay for , same as anything else in life , why do peoplr seem to think a kitchen is a kitchen . B&Q , MFI , Ikea , Homebase , their stuff is at best poor, I simply refuse to fit it. When I started out in business I found myself a supplier that did quality stuff and thats all I will fit , if you have a list of what you want send it me and I will give you a quote for a kitchen .

I have looked at loads of kitchens (cheaper ones) and the best quality are def Ikea. They are the only ones that come with a 10yr guarantee as well. We have planned ours using the kitchen planner, and the whole lot only comes to £1200!

Had a quick look today at some due to 15% off day if you look up close the finish is poor the sales woman was evil to.

I think there is a place on carlile street kitchen outlet my joiner recommends them for best value to quality ratio

Hi, my partner is a builder/joiner. He deals with trade places all the time which cost a fraction of what places like B&Q charge for kitchens, he would also be able to fit it for you. Message me back if you are interested? Thanks.
