He was on the pc this morning and then suddenly he wasn't. When I asked him why he told me he had broken it :o

I switched it on and everything was upside down, words folders, even the welcome screen.

I practically had to stand on my head to do a system restore which fixed it, but does anybody know what he did?

I think Alt + the direction keys changes the picture orientation. I don't feel like giving it a try myself right now though.

My three year old did this to my pc last year. I didnt know at the time that its simple to fix-- I forget how to do it now, but I set the system restore the same way that you did.
Somewhere on the forum are instructions to set it all right, I remember seeing the thread a few weeks ago, so unless the thread was deleted in the cull, itll still be around somewhere.

A lot of graphics drivers have options for rotation in them. Exactly where the option is will vary depending on the manufacturer.

Try Control, Alt and the Up arrow key at the same time. Otherwise maybe its this :

It's a property of the Intel graphics driver (other manufacturers may also use it) you can rotate the screen with the ALTGR key and the direction arrows - fun to do on someones PC who doesn't know about it :)

It is ctrl-alt-[directional cursor] to rotate the screen... and kids always have a knack of doing it!

It is definitely a puzzler the first time you see it. :D

You can go into the display properties and turn of these 'hot keys' fortunately!

My son and I have both been trying to turn our screen images :hihi: :hihi: - but none of the CTRL/ALT things work at all :( , so maybe all the 'hot' keys have been turned off!! Steve went into the settings on the control panel and tried it and it worked then though. Think I might try it at work on mine first, then on someone else's :hihi: :hihi: !!!!

The hot keys only work if you have an Intel graphics chipset, and the hotkey application installed and running.
