Can anyone pleeease help me

If you here on an American film or sitcom somebody smells like Beets?? Do you know what they are refering to?? I've heard it loads and can never work out what they mean??

I've even, like a saddo traipsed all over the net looking but can't find anything????:confused:

Would be grateful for anybody to put me out of my misery:D

Beets = Beetroots

Alternatively, sugar beets which, afaik, are used as cattle fodder and are inclined to whiffiness after being left out for a while.
