Hi all,

Me and my mate are heading out of Sheffield (and Yorkshire hopefully) for a night out on 27th January. His lass is away so he's allowed out haha.

We'll be checking into a hotel about 2pm and then going out all day.

Any recommendations?

Other than the usual Leeds, Newcastle etc.

Cheers

If all you're going to do is spend all day getting drunk, does it really matter where you are?

Why not do some energetic activity such as paintballing or go-karting in the afternoon (or take in a football match), then go out drinking in the evening?

Liverpool, Manchester. Both good nights :)

Or search the net for last minute deals to Belfast, Dublin etc...

A short hop to Amsterdam is good fun too.

How about Glasgow, i was there once and there is one long road full of pubs, its a case of crawl out of one into another, and they are all different, and cheap as chips

Funny you should say that, I'm going tomorrow :)

But for the 27th, we're thinking of jumping on a coach/Megabus with a 24 pack of lager and getting tanked up on the way!

It's looking like Newcastle or Manchester at the moment!

Anyone been to places like Oxford, Norwich or Southend?

If the weather is still shocking we might not get there at all yet!

But my mate lives over there so he's meeting us at the coach station when we arrive and taking us to some good places

Marriage. Cripes....

How about Nottingham or Great Yarmouth. Actually, second option is not that happening at all, but I enjoyed it!

 Bristol is a cool city to visit if you fancy somewhere different and quite easy to get to on the train from Sheffield.Loads of little bars. Bath is also lovely down there and has some great restaurants and bars. (and if you fancy being a bit girlie, the new spa is supposed to be lovely!)
And I'd second Pete's Glasgow - probably one of the best places I've ever been! I was most impressed and keep meaning to pull my finger out and go back again!
Norwich I wasn't so impressed with - been about four years since I've been there but a mate of mine was from there so been a few times.
Oxford is ok but prefer Cambridge.
Cardiff is a top night out but when I was last there last year ,the weather was nearly as bad as tonight so it was like a ghost town... until we found the salsa club! Chain places if you want to play it safe and lots of little backstreety places.
Also ob there is Notts for a good short trip (Rescue rooms etc, close town centre but don't drive it's dire) Manchester which seems to be my place to visit often last year and Brum.
I also visit Worthing and Bournemouth occasionally for weekends away but that's because I've got mates in both places more than anything.

Edinburgh.

Rose Street or up the Grassmarket. Plenty of hotels in the grassmarket area, and the train station is right in the city centre.

Brighton is a cracking night out and you can't go wrong in Liverpool.

Recently went to scarborough which was ok.

What about Market Rasen?

There's a market square funnily enough with around 8/9 pubs around it.
