i do sking at castleford xscape prefer it to sheffield ski slope as i heard a few horrid storys of fingers thumb getting trap and broken, getting cut by wires, but not that often , i spend far too much time on the internet
littlefred 16-01-2007, 09:11 Wash my car.

i work nights and most team sport pratice on a week night and a match on saturaday, not what i need as i am the most busy at work on saturaday night, srry for sounding so awkward, i think the best will be go to night school to improve my english but thats only one evening, what about my afternoons ! most normal people are at work
kittenta 16-01-2007, 09:13 Go to college and learn something new, you only work 24 hours so you've plenty of time. Is there anything in life you have always wanted to do? Go and do it! You could always take the other half out, that would go down well. Buy a dog?
MinxyKitten 16-01-2007, 09:14 perhaps try being a little more positive about things and be grateful for what you have got

Hmmm.....get a practical hobby so you always have something to do? Take up wood turning or restore a car or something? Get a dog and walk it? Or volunteer to walk dogs for a rescue centre - you'd meet people and do a good thing too. Go ice skating at Ice Sheffield. Do an Open University course?
BasilRathbon 16-01-2007, 10:12 Get a bike, buy a map and be glad that, even in Rotherham, you're only a few miles away from some delightful countryside.
Alternatively spend the rest of your life staring at computer and tv screens and watching other people enjoying theirs........

smileyjiver 16-01-2007, 18:55 Question - this thread was started by KingDon which has now suddenly changed to LittleFred - is this the same person under two different monikers?
What about helping partner with household chores (cleaning, shopping, washing, ironing etc) - or are these just female jobs? Well they keep me busy the days I'm not working (I work 21 hours a week). I also find the times I'm not working the time to catch up with reading novels plus meeting and visiting friends I haven't seen for a long time.
I was going to suggest that you take up dancing- ballroom, salsa, modern jive - but these tend to be run mainly in the evenings so I suppose that's not a very practical solution for you, but dancing is great for meeting people and making friends. When I lived in Sheffield I used to go to Crookes WMC on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for modern jive. Plus classes are also run in Doncaster and Leeds. On Saturday afternoons I used to go to the tapas bar near West Street (can't remember the name of it now) for lessons in salsa. Met and made lots of friends at all venues.
EdnaKrabappe 16-01-2007, 19:45 God wish i worked 24 hours a week instead of 24 hours a day!
How can people get bored with life - there is sooo much to do!
Read a book - you can do this any time day or night and it transports you to any place - and there are lots of different genres too. As you have stated helps you practise your English to.
Visit some of the great places around the countryside...if you've never done Castleton, all the caves are fantastic places to go... go walking... have a pub lunch... talk to your wife... and yes after fourteen years she deserves to go out more than ever!
Go to the botanical gardens, ridgeway craft centre, wentworth garden centre.
Visit Doncaster and see what a small town centre can look like!
See how much rubbish you can buy in the charity shops of Rotherham for a tenner!
Go and see the Holloways doing an afternoon gig at Thel eadmill on 10th March.
Take up gardening... I really hope my grandmother's keen gene kicks in on me one day - I like to look but not too do.
Find one crap daytime programme that you like and watch it religiously... if i was in on time, I'd watch come dine with me... I love it!
Take up computer games... you don't have to converse with anyone then and they take up hours!
Can I ask what business you run, that allows you to only work 24 hrs a week, & that be enough. I cant make ends meet working 37 sometimes more, lol.

nothing beats selfemployed if you are skill in a trade m8
blondenutter 17-01-2007, 06:08 looks likes there no hope for you then kingdon - everthing that everybody has suggested - YOU GOT A NEGATIVE ANSWER TOO - looks like you going to grow up to be sad and lonely!!! - GET A LIFE AND GET OUT MORE! AND STOP BEING SO SO DAMM NEGATIVE!
There is NOTHING wrong with Doncaster
This thread reminds me a bit of the Full Monty scene
when the guy has just failed to gas himself
try jumping off a tall building--scared of heights
try jumping in a river---cant swim
try getting a mate to run you over--- got no mates
im your mate id rather run you over than look at you:hihi:
EdnaKrabappe 17-01-2007, 21:36 I love this pointless thread!
This guy has got an answer for everything... Kingdon, you make me feel so positive about my little life! I am sure you are quite happy in your own small world but I'm enjoying your Victor Meldrew type answers so someone else take up the gauntlet!
purdyamos 17-01-2007, 23:30 Still no answer as to why the OP changed identity halfway through (then changed back again.)
You know, whatever your name is, there's a saying - there's no such thing as being bored, only being boring. I think that what you have shown in rejecting each and every one of people's myriad suggestions shows that it's your attitude that's your main problem, rather than lack of *things to do.*
scottwoodbur 17-01-2007, 23:54 he's a jerk.
take up a musical instrument and start a band. rock n roll!
...or get yerself some sequencing software for your computer and start making some banging choons!
troyhark 18-01-2007, 03:22 ii got a 50" plasma in bedroom with Hd so its better picture then cinema Someone swallowed the hype and fibs.
Though far more likely to be in focus, it has to be said.
