Does anyone know of any petrol stations in Sheffield where someone actually puts the petrol in the tank for you rather than being self-service?

There is one in (North) Yorkshire somewhere, I remember turning off the A1 for local services and then going back in time 40 years.

They still have them in Italy, I'm not sure it's a good thing though.

I've not seen any here but I have come across them in Malta and France. In France a guy not only filled up the car he put air in all the tyres.

Some people might find it difficult to fill up, such as someone in a wheelchair without a passenger to help.

I've also noticed no end of people who are unable to get the cap off. :D

^^^ That's me. When I first passed my test I drove my mum's astra for a while, I struggled especially in the cold when it stuck and kind men would often come to my rescue! I once took the cap off and left it in the petrol station, drove off without it!

Well up until very recently (2/3 years ago), Sandygate Motors did this for you. It always felt a little embarrassing when the chap came out when you were fiddling with his pumps.

Now redeveloped for residential.

In Castleton on the far side of it (Manchester / A6 side) there is a petrol station there that does this IIRC.

Foxed me no end when I came out of my car and so did she from the shop area. When I realised I was so stunned mullet that there was one of those local-ish I nearly had to go have a lie down! :D

Most petrol stations have a sign that says 'sound your horn if you require assistance'.

I got this sort of service in the Highlands a few years ago - it completely foxed me, as I hadnt seen that done since my childhood. Never seen it in Sheffield.

The petrol station in Woodhouse used to do it. They took the pumps out a few years ago though.

Beighton Motors also used to do it before it became a franchised fuel garage.

That would be sweeeeeet, thing is if they got to pay another guy to do that then...price at the pump goes up, also, if he goes a few pence over you'd always get some tit like, "Ahh well I only said £10, soo...."

One day a lady asked me at the petrol station if i could unscrew her cap for her, she was having trouble getting it undone...it turned out she was turning it the wrong way..AMAZING..!!
