Really interested in finding out about the matches that were played at Darnall.
Does anyone know whereabouts the old/new grounds were in Darnall. I'm guessing High Hazels park??
I know they were moved to Hyde Park and other places before disbanding in the early 1900's but would be interested to find out more history about them.
Many Thanks
Just bumping this again :)
There is (or was) a cricket pitch, on the left, just before the railway bridge, between Darnall and Handsworth. Played there in the late '50s. Can't remember the name of the road though.
Thinking.....no will get the map out...
Just checked, off Olivers Mount somewhere, or it was. Probably covered in houses by now!
Yea thats where High Hazels Park is so i'm guessing it was in there

Hi CathS
Just looking at your message re the above. Can't help you with the location of the Darnall Cricket Ground. My Grandfather played for them in the 1890's.
there is a medal in the family won by him when he played in the Norton & District Cricket League. Being a keen family historian I would like to find more out about the club and about Grandfather's time with them. There is very little info available about the club. I must make the effort to dig into the resources of both the Sheffield Central Library and South Yorkshire Archives.
Excuse my ignorance ! but I presume we can't correspond regarding the subject on a personal level ?
