I have three photos that I want to put on to canvas...30x30inch I think size wise or thereabouts depending upon how my pictures can be enlarged (they are currently 10x8. I have found the following website which seems pretty good on size, price and service (£60.00) but wondered if anyone has had this done locally or with any other internet companies that could be recommended?

Thanks!

Hi Liose:)

That looks pretty cheep TBH ..i dont think you would beat that price locally :D ..professional labs would charge twice has much ..i had a 40x40 one done for a client for christmas and it cost me £140 trade ..great lab tho and top quality!!

You do realise that by having a 30x30 of a scanned 10x8 you are going to loose alot of the image??

Thanks for that - I thought it looked a good price but wasn't sure - can't really afford £140.00!!!

Mmm...image wise, I am not that good with knowing the best size - what would you recommend to go to from a 10x8?

Thanks for your help by the way!

Look up "Artcell" in the phone book and give Pete a ring on Monday. I'm sure that he will do you a superb job for a better price than £140!

He will also advise whether the increase in size will give you a "grainy" look to the finished job.

I agree, Pete will do a good job, he's framed several paintings for me.

His number is 0114 255 2014.

Sa-kis on Division Street advertise for a local person who does photos and imaging on canvas. They look really cool. I dont know how much the person charges, but he is local. It may be worth popping in and enquiring.

Good luck.

I did my own, but it depends on what size you are looking at.

I printed the image onto t-shirt transfer paper then ironed it onto a canvas block from an art shop.

Lavverly!

Hi Liose - I noticed a place on Ecclesall Road advertising that. Just up past Tesco a bit. Honestly can't tell you more than that cause I wasn't paying much attention - just remember walking past and thinking "oh, looks cool".

Thanks for all the tips everyone.

Will go and have a look at the various recommendations and hopefully get something ordered! They are obviously more popular than I thought!

Like the idea of trying it myself on the t-shirt paper - will have a look into that! Maybe a few smaller ones for our bedrooms! Can you pm me exactly what you did Lizzmobile? Thanks!
