I visited Firth Park for first time in about 18 months, noticed the library is all boarded up, is it just being renovated or has it gone elsewhere? any other info about the area gratefully recieved.

The library has moved up to the corner of Stubin Lane in a purpose built place.
The friends of the old library have raised cash to renovate the old building.

Thanks for that cycleracer, is that up near the T.S.B. end of Stubbin, or the new structure near the park?

Talking about Firth Park library, did anyone belong to the reading circle or the chess club in about 1960 or perhaps a abit before, I know I was only very little at the time

I lived on Firth Park Road in the mid-80s, I remember in the summer they used to organise activity days at the library for us kids :)
It started inside, where we always watched cartoons about litterbugs and drew pictures, then we all got gloved up and went outside to clear up all the rubbish from the path round the building and clean off all the graffiti. They somehow managed to make scrubbing brickwork enjoyable!
