Will this mean lots of competitions for best front gardens in estates and towns next year?

Yes all very nice and welcome,but what happens afterwards, back to normal.Chip papers,polystyrene boxes,plastig bags,vomit etc will soon replace the flowers.We have seen it all before, Euro 96, looked great before and during, especially around Hillsborough.Soon gets back to normal,unfortunately.

There is a nationaly flowering competition in France.
It's called 'Ville Fleurie' and basically, some floral council grade cities, towns and villages accross the region.
There are categories, seaside town, large city etc and regions.
Each city gets given a sign with its category + Fleurie on it and each time they win, an extra flower logo gets added to the sign, you can get a maximum of 4.

Yeah it's in cheese country, but this systel is good, and it is nice to see some cities/town make an effort to win such competitions.
