It's a great little paper and your doing a fantastic job serving the communities of north sheffield.

I know the people who founded the paper a few years ago from small beginings they are a hard working likeable bunch.

If you live in north sheffield it's great for what's going on and has all the local news covered. I think it's important for sheffield to have independently owned media as opposed to the larger newspapers in the city and it's far better than some of the free trash they produce!

Keep up the good work

P.S. Love the new Smedley column - that guys hilarious!

P.P.S Would be good idea to carry on some of your debates on this website.

How come we don't get a copy in Dungworth? It's certainly in North Sheffield but most people don't realise it exists.

(Mind you, it might be worth keeping it like that!)

I never knew till recently that Chapeltown was North Sheffield... Especially given its S30 postcode.

I actually lived there for the first 2 years of my life, Cherry Walk it was, can't remember what number or much about my life there really, except that we had a German Shepherd dog called Rebel and we used to go shopping at the Chapeltown ASDA a lot.

I suppose Firth Park, Longley, Southey and Parson Cross (The largest council estate in europe) are not 'North' Sheffield then?

Or is that you think they cannot read so therefore not much point, they'll only use it to light fires in empty houses?

Email address now added! As we are an on-line forum it seems the easiest communication mode to use.

bringing journalism back to the 19th century?

No, Look Local is an independent newspaper for the said region (above)

But you can pick up a copy in drop off spots around North Sheffield - such as libraries, supermarkets etc - if you are not in our delivery catchment area.

We often run news that is relevant to Shiregreen and Longley.

Thanks for your interest.

'We're a free weekly paper for the North of the city,'

should therefore really be changed to

'We're a free weekly paper for the selected areas in the North of the city,'

if you were looking to be accurate.

Still we've got the email contact address now, so it is progress.

Perhaps distribution is a bit haphazard because we're in between Hillsborough and Worrall, and haven't had a copy for ages and ages.

Actually we'd assumed it must have ceased publication, as they say... but evidently not.

Well we're bang in the centre of Hillsborough and I've never even heard of it!!

Is it delivered door to door or left in shops etc?

Don't worry about it Internetowl, I've managed to get a copy and it's really pretty dire. At least it covers the oil spillage on the garage floor and makes good covering for the shed floor.

You're not missing anything.:P

Its not full of working mens clubs adverts is it? If it is then I've seen it previously - like anyone goes to 'club' anymore - dead on their feet reluctant dinosaurs of the fringe of the entertainment industry.

Sorry, never heard of the "North Sheffield News" in Tinsley.

With whats going on around here we could fill a paper the size of "The Sun" just need willing young women for the page 3.

We could do a sports page that includes the all the wonderful sports facilities we now have in the North of the City.

It will be even better when we get the indoor ski slope like at Xscape, Freeport, Castleford

Well, everything the Council does indicates that they believe that North Sheffield ends at Yew Lane. The "North Sheffield Better Buses" project goes bugger all near Stocksbridge or High Green and "investing in North Sheffield" never seems to mean money for Deepcar or Burncross.

It's 30 years since Stocksbridge, High Green, et al were annexed into Sheffield. You'd think the Council would have noticed by now.

Well we get it most weeks, and unlike the other free newspapers that come through the door. I do actually read some of it! although the grammer is sometimes questionable, abit like mine. It is alot better read than most, and it does seem like you try! unlike some of the larger competitors you have, infact out of the sheffield based papers I would say that there is only the Metro (which is the best by far!) look local and the sixer that is worth even opening. The other sheffield papers that I have seen are poor, and mainly full of adverts with no news in them! which is ironic seeing as they call themselves "NEWSPAPERS", they should be called "ADPAPERS" surely!!!!

It is false advertising to have newspaper on the front of them as there is only about 15% of the paper that has news in there, and a certain sheffield paper which i won't mention that I used to buy regularly has definately gone down the pan recently, It used to be a great paper the only thing worth looking at these days is the music section, tv and thats it oh apart from the jobs section on Thursdays!

I used to think it was a great publication, about 2 or 3 years ago can anyone tell me why it has gone downhill so much recently?

I would be interested to know, my guess is they are making that much money these days that they can't be bothered to make the paper readable or visually interesting!

I would prefer to see some more community news in the look local. There is never really that much mentioned about youth groups, etc. What are the local scout groups up to? Kids take a day trip out to Underbank Activity Centre? That sort of thing.

I find the classifieds a bit hard to scan through, maybe they could be organised better?

Otherwise I wouldn't change it that much, I read it every week so it can't be that bad ;):)

P.S A minor comment - Try proof reading a bit more ;)
