Ok I have something I would like to know about my dog to see if it is normal or not.
When we take our dog for walks she never goes to the loo but as soon as we get home she darts to the back door for a wee or even worse LOL.
She goes for regular walks could it be she does not like doing it on a lead or is it just her personality as she will not go if she knows you are watching her its amusing as she starts looking really shifty when she needs to go

Maybe its just that when she was toilet trained, she took the training a bit too literally? ie instead of just thinking 'I'm supposed to pee outside' she thinks 'I'm specifically supposed to pee in this garden'
When I was little my parents were training our big black GSD to be our pub guard-dog. They practiced 'see em off!' with our mate Dave... when Dad went to demonstrate how well he'd learned, he said 'see em off' to this bloke at the bar, and Iggy ran out to the back room where Dave was playing Pool, leapt over the pool table & pinned Dave to the floor!
So instead of learning to protect us from intruders etc, he learned 'see em off' meant... go jump on Dave :hihi:

LOL she is a little like that she does some mad stuff like you can be in the shower turn round and she's sat behind you getting soaked and covered in soap. she has even jumped in the bath with my wife.
It does sound like she's got a very fixed idea of how and where she's allowed to go to the loo.
Have you got a word or a signal that you used to use when training her to go out to the loo? You could try using that when you're out for walks to try to connect 'toilet' with 'outside' rather than 'my garden'.

   Yeah I usually say "Go Wee Wee" it was an idea I picked up from Lotti off of another subject as I thought it would be good if we go out or we take her in the car to get her to empty her bladder.
Im going to try it tonight and see if she will do anything.
Take something really tasty with you - little blocks of cheese are good. As soon as she goes outside of the garden, if she does - then praise her and give her the tasty tit bit.
Takara doesn't like going in public and has to be on grass or leaves, she was desperate one day in town and went behind a telephone cable box to pee... Little did I know she was peeing and eating chips that had been dropped down there at the same time.
Does she get to walk on grass when you're out? Some dogs, particularly bitches, prefer to wee on grass because it soaks in instead of running off the pavement onto their feet. Maybe give that a try.

What makes me laugh is the way she tries to hide what shes doing and waits till she thinks no ones around.
hehe Takara does it too... unless she goes offlead in the park, then for some reason it's ok to go right into the middle of the grass - whether there's a person there or not - and do her business.
We had some fantastic problems geting Brude to go anywhere but his own garden :(
It's great whilst he's at home, coz I'd rather he didn't wee on everybody's gatepost or mess in the street, but holidays or visiting were a right ordeal
Take her on holiday for a week - lets see her cross her legs that long :D
