I know I know... I've left this a bit late, the date's tonight!... but what stuff other than going round bars is there to do?

I can't drink because I'm driving over from another town, other wise that's just what I'd have done! Was thinking food up at east one then.....erm?!?!?

any suggestions?

Cheers!

It all depends on your date - what are they into?
There's cinema, bowling, clubbing all up near Meadowhall. Ice skating is a great excuse for holding hands. Theatre, Lyceum and Crucible and dinner is an option there too.
Meadowhall itself gives you the option of cinema (tho I prefer UGC), mini bowling is a laff in the arcade and theres a pub and restaurants too!
Lazer Zone is pretty good fun, been on nights out with my partner and pals there before.
Hope that helps and good luck! Post back and let us know.

going for a meal is kind of like a reasonable killer of time (ahh, the romance). and you dont have to 'drink' in bars. though i dont know, that seems to be what town revolves around. the showroom cinema is a nice place to go on a date i find.

thankyou both! I've just checked the showroom - not much on that I'm sure they're going to like though...

I'm always a little bit wary of cinema on a first date - not much room for talking...

hmmm... ice skating would be good for a laugh, won't be able to get there in time though after food

nerves setting in!

go and play some 9ball pool at rileys. you'd get to talk, though i guess it depends what kind of people were talking about here. there will be less kids about than the ice rink anyways

And if they like ska music go to the grapes. It's 50 yards up the road from cubana

Go late night shopping and look at engagement rings.

I'd say go even if they're not that keen on Ska. I'm not, but I saw Catch It Kebabs sometime last year and thought they were superb - masses of energy, very funny and hugely entertaining.

A meal was always recommended to me....

This way if you dont get on... you just sit an eat your meal... After all its rude to talk with ya mouth full! ;)

Good luck in whatever you choose to do... :)

The night was quality, everything fell in to place...

Ended up going to east one (cubana was full) then the vodka bar nearby and then forum till about 11.

Was a bit worried about being able to hold a conversation for that long but it didn't turn out like that at all.

Next date arranged for monday - got more of an idea what to do for this one!

Thanks everyone!
