Out of interest, many people here go to the cinema or have internet downloads killed it off?!
Few decent films on the way, Hero for one.
Been wondering about that UGC tenner per month scheme - anyone here go regularly? Can you book tickets online with it?
Hiya, I go fairly often, I have one of those £9.99 cards.. To be honest Im not sure if you can book tickets with it.. Have a look at the website

Yes, when I come up I always go to the UGC Cinema in the Don Valley district. And had a couple of problems.

I got a UGC card..go every weekend :D
Deejay - theres a different number you call if you wanna book with the card. Ive never used the service tho...
Hero is really good! bought the dvd in HK last year :D
Not sure why Quentin's name is on the poster as its got nothing to do with him.. :loopy:
Looking forward to Excorist: the beginning, Ju On: the grudge (US version), Shark tale..theres others but forgotten! hehe
Did anyone watch Soul Plane (remake of airplane)? its soooo funny!
I just saw you could phone to book - at 25p/min!!
I think I'll watch Hero on the big screen, but yes some good films coming up.
Quentin no doubt just jelping promote the film - cinemas more likely to take it with a big name attached and people more likely to go see it.

Go to UGC on either a fri/sat/sunday night and just see how busy it gets. Even tho internet connection speeds are getting faster its still a real p.i.t.a downloading movie. Whats the quailty like? Is it corrupt?? ect.
Plus i think i'd much rather watch a film on a big screen with nice Dolby Digital sound rather than a 17" monitor with a pair of old Yanaha speakers.
I go to UGC every few weeks so I know what it's like ;) Late night films are always better to see IMHO. Less people.
re: Films/tv series for download
Ignoring the legalities, its pretty easy to find what you want [I use it for tv series not available here]. Quality when taken from DVD/HDTV is very good. If you want the latest films, go to the cinema tho. For quality and legal reasons!

Morons turning up late or bringing in a banquet to eat has put me off the cinema. Not to mention the prices.
I wait until they come out on DVD and rent them.

Oh and if you get a card...you queue at the cardholder only desk which is a bonus esp when at peak times the *normal* queue is soooo longgggggggggggg :gag:
Booking on the net is even quicker :)
