View Full Version : How's Oughtibridge these days? doddicus 08-01-2007, 18:08 been living in dinnington for past 6 months...previously lived in oughtibridge..hope its not changed too much!! barns101 08-01-2007, 18:11 It's still proper bo! :D We've now got a pelican crossing (or is it a zebra crossing, what's the difference?) on Low Road at the bottom of Station Lane (a.k.a Jawbone Hill). The White Hart is still up for lease and the Pheasant will soon be in new hands. doddicus 08-01-2007, 18:12 no gossip then!! Waffer 08-01-2007, 18:13 nice pint in the travs doddicus 08-01-2007, 18:15 havnt been in travs for donkeys...used to go to cock inn:thumbsup: chezlyn 08-01-2007, 18:18 You missing it already? I don't think it's changed since you left except the road net work is a bit different, not sure how long it's been finished now. It's better for the pedestrians as there's a footpath to both sides of Low Road, and zebra crossings. The bus stop in Millenium Green still gets smashed from time to time and kids or drunks, still decide to pick up the advertisement swing thing that's outside the news agents and throw it at a window occasionally (not sure why they don't put it indoors at night actually!) At the moment there are road works to the bottom of Church street with traffic lights so causing some hold ups. The usual xmas tree in the green had new lights on it this year which looked like tinsel, dead nice. So nothing unusual or exciting to report. AKITA 08-01-2007, 18:23 been living in dinnington for past 6 months...previously lived in oughtibridge..hope its not changed too much!! Not quite sure of the interbreeding bit, but ye because of them being small villages every one knows each others business. AKITA 09-01-2007, 10:08 i lived there for a short while and had to move cos it did my head in to see it all I have lived there for around 21 years of my life but got out on the first bus and back home on the last bus back in, so i know its just the fact the every one know every one and even when i go back now to visit my parents i get looked at like an alien because my face is not known except to my old friends. eric_the_man 09-01-2007, 10:16 hey dont take too much offence, its just an off the cuff remark but you all seem to know what i mean. i cant cope with everyone knowing all about me or what im up to AKITA 09-01-2007, 10:20 but got out on the first bus and back home on the last bus Did not take offence that why i put the above its great to be out of there, its like a village for the mentally impaired. I was on the first bus out and last bus in so you can get away from it all. BasilRathbon 09-01-2007, 10:23 Hey, you're from Oughtibridge - gimme six!
