Anybody got any idea what the strange dart board sign that says 'The Bow' is/ was for? The sign is on the old education buildings on Holly Street. I once heard it was a club?????

I once heard it was a club?????use to be full of skinheads. okismoki 01-12-2007, 20:36 use to be full of skinheads. used to be full of allsorts,i was a rocker in the 70,s/80,s,and used to frequent the place,meetin stef fadiga,a mixed race kid called kieran,a punk nicknamed billy 2 rivers(martin)faisal kelly,mick walker,john bray & his mate adrian, scrape(graham),just to play pool,talk bull**** or just sup tea. one of the staff was a brummie called paul,he managed the football team....happy days. are you the sosk with the tattoo shop??? Plain Talker 01-12-2007, 21:06 okismoki, you'd have been going there about the same time as me. Brummie Paul was lovely. Remember those ace ox-blood red brogues he used to wear? I was really into black-and-white photography, back then, and developing my own pics. There was an ace darkroom at the Bow Centre, and Paul used to teach us how to develop and print the pics. Do you remember the really lovely big guy who used to be the cook there? Malcolm? he was a huge, bear of a man, about 30 stone... His heart was as big as he was. He sadly passed away about five years ago. okismoki 01-12-2007, 21:14 never saw the bloke who did the cookin,but clive nelson , a black guy,told paul about soul food,paul had a go at cookin it and made a pigs ear of it,we were all laughin at how he tried cooking it. clive showed him,he never looked back...i used 2 work at leopold street education offices,often taking off to meet the afore mentioned mates in the bow,eventually gettin sacked.wonder what happened to paul????? okismoki 01-12-2007, 21:19 okismoki, you'd have been going there about the same time as me.
