I turned this on about a year back and seen people I went to school with on it. It wa hilarious….and they were still behaving the same way they did when they were 14!

Its the ultimate chav show.

The government complains about society becoming more and more anit social etc. This type of programme glamorizes it.

It is the worst type of exploitism of the chav class.

P.S. White lightening has apparantly stopped doing cider in 3 litre bottles, that means its going to cost the chavs more to get drunk so hopefully the won't be dri nking as much and bothering normal people.

Yes, it is the Chav Parade. If you want to inveigh against Chavdom, don't forget there is a Chav thread on the forum- "Sheffield Chavs". Trisha, in my view, is as bad as many of the improvident, slack-jawed louts, grotesques and whores that regularly parade their inbred ignorance on her show. She is as vulgar, aggressive and self-obsessed as the worst Chavs. Her role is to exploit the primitive people and their lack of dignity in order to make "sexy" television. The whole show is like a documentary of a fossil people; vestigial, evolutionary failures largely dependant on the state. I began to watch it this summer, in between academic terms, but I had to stop. I expected to find it all entertaining. It was like watching the decline of a people, the passing of a race. Things have come to a pretty pass when the unutterably pathetic personal problems of inadequates like these are offered as "light entertainment". What is even worse, is the ludicrous, bogus psychological analysis and "advice on issues" offered by the dreadful presenter herself. Why should anyone listen to Trasha, sorry, Trisha? What are her qualifications? She is so "clever", intuitive, and insightful that she married a gay man.

I cannot understand the reasoning behind wanting to drag your so-called "loved-one" on to a tv show, in order to humiliate them...

I think it was on Jenny Jones' show, in the USA, there was a homophobic guy, brought on the show to have revealed to him "his secret crush" - the gay bloke who worked with him.

the homophobic guy felt so humiliated by this, he murdered the gay bloke who had the crush on him, a few days later.

Surely, the only possible reason for broadcasting garbage like these shows, is so that the ordinary people watching it can sit back, breathe a sigh of relief, and think to themselves "thank God our life is not anywhere near as bad as that!"

I thank god that I work now, because i am not stuck in the house with the awful decision of "which channel do I have on? Killjoy, (or, rather, his subsidiary show that's replaced Killjoy), or Trashy?"

The worrying thing is that with all these 'chavs' dropping 'chav' babies all the time and ourselves, the 'no-chavs' (i'm playing it safe-ish here not to include any class discriminating terms!!) are not having children or at least of a smaller degree, what is the next generation going to be like? I mean let's face it, nobody gives a chav a job, so going on chavvy TV shows is their only source of income.

Yes, it is exploitation, rather like a Victorian Freak Show. Just observe the way the camera always catches the guests at their most unattractive angle. I admit, they are hardly "the beautiful people", but there is an exploitative cruelty behind the lens. I would question the morality of exposing such obviously vulnerable people both to media attention and to the patronising, often ridiculous "advice" of a minor television celebrity. I have watched guests on the programme who clearly display signs of personality disorder, mental distress and sub-normal levels of intelligence. Conversely, some of the guests are far from vulnerable, and the kind of ne'er-do-wells that should be denied their little half hour of "fame". The whole show is based on dishonesty. The guests are generally dishonest with both themselves and their families, and the presenter's motives are fundamentally dishonest in the sense that she engages in bogus self-presentation. Her role is to ensure ugliness and nastiness emerge under the guise of a caring mediator.
