View Full Version : Isn't it weird how pets are so different

My dogs adore each other. Takara cleans Eddy's eyes and ears on a regular basis and he cleans her ears in return. They play together, sleep together and genuinely love each other. When one of them leaves the house, the other is lost.

However - put their food bowls in the same rack and they will growl and snap at eachother until they are separated to eat in peace.

My cats, on the other hand, hate eachother's guts. They despise eachother with a degree of contempt I just can't comprehend. They hiss and swipe at eachother and more or less every opportunity, though they've never actually fought.

However - put one bowl of food down in front of them which is only big enough for one little cat face really, and they will quite happily share without so much as a grumble. :loopy:

Isn't it strange how they're so different :P

Our cats get on fine and never fight over food unless, god forbid, you give them turkey. Then no person, rabbit or cat is allowed within one meter without being growled or swiped at. The rest of the time they are little bundles of love.

Ours were sooz, until a certain age, then all hell let loose. The only time you see them in the same room is if they're hungry. In fact, usually ones on the first floor landing or bedrooms and the other's in the attic lol
