Does anyone know what are the best Karaoke pubs and nights in Sheffield City centre ? I am interested especially in finding out about any obscure ones I don't know about ...

I'm a big fan of Karaoke and I am also concerned that the Nags Head in Shalesmoor is due to close soon - are they going to set up somewhere else in town ?

The ones I do know about and sometimes go to are Nags Head, the Crown Inn(London Road), the Brown Bear.

Or you can just give your opinion of Karaoke in general.

Thanks

Patrick

The best one has to be The Shakey at Hillsbro on a Sunday night. Don't worry if you're not very good, the DJ will tell you!!

Hmmm... been a while since I streched the old vocal chords and made everyone weep with my angelic voice *ahem* :D
Theyve probably done away with it now but Walkabout used to do Bandioke, a chance to sing your favorite classics with the backing of a real life band, as opposed to squinting at the subtitles on a screen and mekkin do with a jumping CD in the background.
Fave place to do Karaoke was at Cavendish, and we are going back a while, when Danny and J used to do it, was funny as hell, then it turned into dross and posers.
If anyone wants to do a karaoke meet-up then Im game :hihi:

Its not quite sheffield but the best karaoke I've found since moving to this wonderful place is every friday at the Parish Oven in Thorpe Salvin - just don't get up if you're no good - It's like a caberet... all old boys sing sinatra. I'm the only girl all night usually....

Are they still doing that "search for a star" competition on a thursday night? Is that any good?

Search for a star is off now, the guy doing it didn't have very good sound and it got really quiet apart from final night. they have got a 70s and 80s night on a thursday now, that is really good. Karaoke on friday is good, it looks really professional too and sounds like professional equipment. same guy does sundays as well, from mid afternoon(!!) until close. Saturday night is ok too in there got karaoke and play yer cards right. but for me, the best nights are thursdays and fridays now. sundays if you fancy a sing all day.

Hi everyone,

The best Karaoke pub in sheffield has to be the White Bear in Ecclesfield

Bruno the DJ/KJ works there on a Wednesday from 8pm till close

and

Sunday 4 till 6 then 8 till close

he has the largest selection of karaoke tracks in South Yorkshire so no one should have an excuse not to sing
